Women's Self Defense
Honor Bank, The Mills Community House and Benzonia Public Library are proud to sponsor a self-defense event. Preston Taylor, owner of Grand Traverse Personal Protection will be presenting this event at the Mills Community House on March 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.
There will be a power point presentation covering statistics of crime and violence, recommended readings; he will cover laws in the State of Michigan, and methods of defense including pepper spray, concealed weapons, tasers and firearms.
The second half will be a hands on demonstration called “stand up position and counters.” He will show the group moves and tactics of what to do if you are grabbed/abducted, incur a home invasion and what to do if someone jumps in your vehicle.
He will also demonstrate the correct way to use pepper spray and where you can and cannot transport it legally, and will have some on hand to purchase, if interested.
It will be a very dynamic and informational presentation, it’s free, and available to the public.
