Honor Bank’s May non-profit of the month is Benzie County Animal Control. The goal is to raise awareness and help the shelter find a loving home for every animal in Benzie County. Honor employees will volunteer at the shelter to help bathe, walk, and spend time with the animals. The Bank will also collect various pet supplies during the month and will display a “Pet of The Week” poster in the Honor Branch lobby as well as on social media.
We will be accepting donations of dog and cat food, (paws and claws food upsets their stomachs, so they’ve asked that we do not donate this brand) as well as cleaning supplies such as paper towel, cat litter, air fresheners, laundry soap, and dish soap for the entire month of May.
Anyone who donates in May is entered into a drawing to win one of two prizes. There is also a drawing for kids. They will have four coloring pages that they can color, turn in, and the Bank will post the picture in the Honor Bank lobby and enter them into the drawing. Anyone who donates will get their name put on a “paw print” to display in the lobby. The drawings will be held on June 7.
Benzie County Animal Control not only adopts the pets out, but finds stray animals as well as lost pets. They do everything in their power to make sure the animals are well taken care of, and team up with Benzie County Animal Welfare League to ensure that any emergency surgery needed is performed. This is a wonderful cause for the welfare of all animals in Benzie county.
